ED concludes MUDA raid after grilling officials, takes away files on land allotment
NT Correspondent Mysuru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) concluded its raid at the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office early Sunday morning and left for Bengaluru with documents they obtained at the MUDA office. According to sources, the ED sleuths concluded the probe around 3.30 am on Sunday. The ED officials who raided the office under CRPF security cover on the first day on Friday, quizzed MUDA officials for nearly 12 hours on Friday.
They have collected all files related to allotment of 14 sites to B M Parvathi , wife of the CM, the controversial details pertaining to 3.16 acres of land gifted to the CM's wife by her brother Mallikarjunaswamy. They have also recovered the controversial “whitener applied” letter allegedly submitted by the CM's wife Parvathi. They also verified the documents in the presence of FSL experts. The ED officials have sought details of 'missing files' with MUDA commissioner Raghunandan. The officials have recovered the files on distribution of sites under the controversial 50: 50 scheme from 2015 to 2024. Letters written by previous deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra to the state government were also recovered.
As more than Rs 5000 crore loss has allegedly occurred to the state exchequer due to the MUDAs 'irregularities,' the ED may also interrogate previous MUDA commissioner D B Natesh and Dinesh, said sources. Though the state government has constituted an inquiry commission led by retired justice PN Desai to probe the MUDA irregularities, there is speculation that the CBI may also probe the irregularities fol lowing the demand made by several opposition leaders in the state.
