Bengaluru: Zomato’s 2024 year-end report offers insights into food trends in Bengaluru, where biryani continues to dominate the dining scene. With over 9 crore biryani orders across India this year, Bengaluru remained a strong contender in this biryani-loving culture, with the city contributing a substantial number to the nation’s total.

Zomato's report revealed that an astounding 9,13,99,110 biryanis were ordered nationwide, keeping it firmly in the top spot for the ninth consecutive year. Alongside the biryani craze, Zomato’s dining-out statistics spotlight Bengaluru’s evolving restaurant scene. One Bengaluru food lover takes the spotlight for spending an eye-watering Rs 5,13,733 on a single restaurant visit, marking a new high for extravagant dining. The trend of dining out on special occasions, like Father’s Day, also gained traction, with over 84,000 people across India celebrating with family meals.

Biryani was followed by pizza, with Zomato delivering over 5 crore pizzas, and tea emerged as the beverage of choice, with 77,76,725 orders surpassing coffee. The report also noted that Delhiites topped the savings list, but Bengaluru showed strong dining habits with a mix of luxury and budget-friendly options.
