Yaduveer honour Chamaraja Wadiyar 10th on his 162nd birth anniversary

Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the titular head of the erstwhile royal family of Mysore on Sunday recalled the contributions of his ancestor, the 23rd Maharaja of Mysuru, Chamaraja Wadiyar Tenth, on his 162nd birth anniversary. Yaduveer wrote on social media: 'On this special day, I fondly remember Sri Chamarajendra Wadiyar X, the visionary ruler of the great Mysore Kingdom.

Ascending the throne at a young age, he demonstrated exceptional leadership by pioneering democratic reforms with the establishment of the Mysore Representative Assembly, the first of its kind in princely India. His commitment to education was unparalleled, founding the Kannada Bashojjivini School and championing women’s education, paving the way for a progressive society.'' His patronage also extended to supporting Swami Vivekananda’s historic journey to Chicago, reflecting his vision for global cultural exchange.

Under his reign, iconic landmarks such as the Bangalore Palace and the Mysore Zoo came into existence, standing as symbols of his dedication to cultural and industrial advancement. His remarkable contributions and forward-thinking leadership have left an indelible mark on this land, shaping its culture, progress, and prosperity,'' Yaduveer added.
