Bengaluru: A significant development has emerged in the murder case of Loknath Singh, who was closely associated with prominent entrepreneur and legislator Balakrishna. Additional Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar has revealed that Loknath was allegedly murdered with the involvement of his wife and mother-in-law. Speaking to the media, Vikas Kumar said a murder case had been filed on March 23 at the Soladevanahalli police station.
Investigations revealed that Loknath Singh was killed by the combined effort of his wife, Yashaswini, and her mother, Hemabha. The marriage of Loknath and Yashaswini was registered last December. However, the couple's relationship was fraught with issues as Yashaswini had expressed concerns to her mother about Loknath’s behaviour and mistreatment. Yashaswini had reportedly confided in her mother that Loknath was causing her distress, despite their familial ties. They got married without the consent of the family and Yashaswini claimed that Loknath began mistreating her shortly after the marriage. Unable to tolerate her husband's harassment, Yashaswini and her mother decided to conspire against Loknath. They allegedly committed the murder together and fled the scene.
They were later arrested. He had been in a relationship with Yashaswini for the past two years and had secretly married her in Kunigal last December without informing her family. After the marriage, he left Yashaswini to live with his parents. The police said that there had previously been fraud cases lodged against Loknath with the Bangalore Crime Branch.
