Legislature meet from Feb 14-25

Bengaluru: The joint session of the State Legislature will be held from February 14 to 25 and the budget session will take place in the first week of March, said CM Basavaraj Bommai.

Talking to reporters after the Cabinet meeting, the CM said the meeting discussed many issues including the Covid situation, management of the pandemic, appeals from schools and colleges, associations and organisations. Everything would be kept before the expert committee and action will be taken, he said.

Bommai said the election to the BBMP was also discussed. It was decided to deploy ministers from neighbouring districts along with those from Bengaluru Urban to hold the BBMP polls successfully. To coincide with the completion of six months in office, the CM said ministers have been asked to share with the electronic and visual media details of the achievements in the past six months.

The party’ s ‘Chintan-Manthan baithak’ will be held soon to ensure better coordination between the Government and the party. On objections raised by Congress leaders to a possible violation of Covid norms during the Derby races at Bangalore Turf Club, Bommai said instructions have been issued to the authorities concerned about the need to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
