Mysuru: Sandalwood Star Shivrajkumar said that he would meet Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to press for relaxation of the rule of 50 per cent occupancy in theatres, he said.
In an interaction with mediapersons in Mysuru on Sunday, Shivrajkumar said, “Even though the government has given Covid relaxations to all sectors, I wonder why there is no relaxation for the 50 per cent occupancy rule to theatre. I will appeal to the Chief Minister in this regard. He has supported us on many occasions. I am sure he will help us. We have to live with Covid 19.”
As for his frequent visits to Shakthidhama children’s home and women’s rehabilitation centre in Mysuru, he said, “Geetha Shivaraj Kumar has now taken the complete responsibility of these kids. It is a good change for us too to spend time with them. And children also feel happy. I personally drove them in a vehicle, to a film shoot spot in Mysuru since they wanted to see a shooting. We are hopeful that we will get permission for Appu’s (Puneeth Rajkumar) dream school for these kids at Shakthidhama soon,” Shivarajkumar said.
Regarding the recent death of younger brother Puneeth, he said, “We are yet to completely overcome the grief of losing Appu. Our voices still choke, whenever we remember about his sad demise. We are living with that pain and we will continue to live with that pain in future too. Appu was a divine soul, that is how people still remember him and love him. We feel proud of the love he has earned,” Shivarajkumar.
