Four held for attacking pvt firm employee

Bengaluru: Four people were arrested for allegedly attacking a private firm employee with a knife near Bagalur police station limits in Bengaluru.

The police have identified the accused as Mohan, 21, from Hoskote, Rakesh and Suraj, 20, both residents of Yelahanka and Varun Kumar, 21, resident of Devanahalli. It was revealed that the victim, working for a private organisation located at KIADB industrial area had recently tried to contact a female employee working for another organisation.

“The accused too worked in the same organisation where the woman was employed,” police said. “Enraged over the victim sending messages to their colleague, the accused attacked the victim while he was on his way,” a senior police officer said.

The accused blocked the victim’s way and attacked him with a knife and other weapons. However, they fled the scene leaving the victim critically injured on the road. An attempt-to-murder case was filed by the victim.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru North-East division, Anoop A. Shetty said that initially on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim, three accused were arrested. “Suraj was arrested based on the statements taken from the accused. However, it is likely that there are more people involved in this case.
