Bazm-e-Niswan, an organisation of women in Bengaluru, distributed scholarships to girl students to pursue higher education during their Scholarship Program 2021-22, held recently in Bengaluru.

The organisation president Husna Sheriff exhorted the students to do well in life and narrated a four-point success program to them. “Always speak the truth, under any circumstance. Have honesty in whatever you do. Have a beautiful conduct and enjoy only what is prescribed and rightfully yours,” she said.

As a symbolic gesture she distributed cheques to ten students during the event. The remaining students will receive the scholarship funds through online payments to their respective bank accounts, she said.

“I achieved 99.17 per cent in my Second PUC. My father is a car driver. I would like to thank Bazme Niswan for helping out thousands of girls like me through their scholarship scheme,” Shafia, one of the selected applicants, told News Trail.

Established with an aim to provide relief, self-confidence and dignity to the weaker sections of the society, Bazm has benefitted more than 55,000 girl students since 1974 when Sadat-unNissa, mother of Mumtaz Ahmed Khan of Al-Ameen Education Society was the president of the organisation.

“Every year the organisation selects meritorious students for the scholarship programme. This year 3613 girl students have benefited through this program,” said Ameen-e-Mudassar, Career Counsellor at Cigma foundation.

“Any student in need of this scheme may apply through the online portal of Bazme-Niswan Charitable Trust,” he added.
