Bengaluru: Former CM B.S. Yediyurappa has cautioned BJP workers that the next assembly elections will be a big challenge for the party and so everybody should start working to strengthen the organisation from the grassroots.
He was speaking after participating in a GramSwarajya rally organized at CPEd Ground in Belagavi on Sunday. Yediyurappa attended the convention to campaign in favour of party candidate Mahantesh Kavatagimath for the MLC elections going to happen on December 10.
The former CM said the Congress seems confident of winning the next assembly elections which should not happen. “Our various units including the OBC Morcha and SC/ST morcha should be united and start strengthening the party”, he said adding that he will start traveling across the state to organize the party after the MLC elections.
He urged all gram panchayat members of BJP to cast the first preference vote for Mahantesh Kavatagimath and not cast the second preference vote for anyone. Because of the ambiguity over casting two votes, Kavatagimath had struggled to win last time and became victorious in the last round by a narrow margin. Voters shouldn’t have any ambiguity this time, he asserted.
Belagavi BJP MP Mangala Angadi , Transport Minister B. Sriramulu, MLAs Abhay Patil, Anil Benake, Anand Mamani, Mahantesh Dodagoudar and Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi were present.
