Ticketless travel: BMTC fines 3,785
BMTC has intensified checking in buses to detect and penalise ticket-less travellers.
During March, the staff had checked 32,038 trips and penalised 3,785 ticketless passengers and collected a fine of Rs 6,12,346 and booked 1,963 cases against conductors for dereliction of duty.
During the same period, 236 male passengers were penalized for occupying seats reserved for women passengers and imposed a fine of Rs 23,600, in accordance with KMV Rules.
During March, an overall fine amount of Rs 6,35,946 was collected after penalising 4,021 passengers.
