Woman succumbs to burns, hubby held

Bengaluru: Awoman who allegedly attempted to set herself ablaze after dousing hand sanitizer over her body last month, succumbed to the injuries at a hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
As per the victim’s statement and a complaint filed by her parents against the victim’s husband, an investigation has been launched by RT Nagar police officials. It was revealed that the woman was married to Imran Khan, a resident of Matadahalli, who allegedly harassed her on various occasions.
The parents tried to reconcile the couple several times. However on April 20, the couple engaged in a verbal scuffle following which the woman set herself on fire.
She was rushed to Victoria Hospital in the city where she succumbed to burn injuries after 20 days. A case has been filed against the husband who is currently being interrogated by the police.
