CM lays foundation for 3 infra projects

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday laid the foundation stones for three infrastructure projects in the city. He first laid the foundation stone for the construction of a grade separator at the Ullal junction on the Outer Ring Road at Kengeri.
The underpass has been granted funds under the Nagarotthana scheme. The project, estimated to cost Rs 32.84 crore, is said to be helpful to commuters travelling on Magadi Main Road, Bengaluru Mysuru Highway, Jnanabharati, Ullal Upanagara, Kengeri Satellite Town and other areas.According to the BBMP, the four-lane underpass will ease traffic at the junction.
Another underpass will be built across Annapoorneshwari Nagar Main Road from Kengeri Outer Ring Road at an estimated cost of Rs 29.16 crore. This project will benefit commuters from Nagarbhavi, Annapoorneshwari Nagar and Sunkadakatte.
The Chief Minister also signalled the commencement of development works along the Outer Ring Road including the construction of retaining walls along the sides of the road. Several bridges across the ORR have also been planned.
These projects will be carried out on ORR between the Goraguntepalya and Nayandahalli Junctions and also between Summanahalli Junction and Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology. According to a BBMP statement, a four-lane flyover and a two-lane underpass have been planned at Kengunte Junction.
Karnataka Higher Education Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan, Housing Minister V Somanna, Horticulture Minister and Rajarajeshwari Nagar MLA Munirathna and Bangalore Rural MP D K Suresh were present at the event.
