Board playing hide and seek

Bengaluru:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been perpetually unpredictable with regard to the announcement of Class 10th results. Following media reports that the results were likely to be declared on July 4, students were anxiously waiting to check their scores in the Term 2 examination.
However, the results were not released on Monday. The board has failed to provide any clarity on the date fixed for the release of scores. Even as the release of results was put off, reports of new dates started making the rounds on the internet.
While some reports claimed that the results would be out by July 13, others said that they would appear by the end of the month. Students have also not been informed of the manner in which the final result of Class 10th would be declared.
This refers to the way in which scores of the two terms would be consolidated to give out the final Class 10th score. The board can consider the scores in the first and second terms in a 50:50 or 30:70 manner, or consider the best score of either term.
However, students have also been pressing for a ‘best of either term – subject wise’ approach for calculating the final score.
While hashtags like #Justice- ForCBSEStudents2022 and #BestOfEitherTermSubjectWise trended on Twitter, there were also plenty of memers who grabbed the opportunity to make memes about the long wait.
“Whenever you declare the result, there is no problem with it. Just don't disturb the children, tell a date. tension starts, can't wait now(sic),” a student tweeted.
Meanwhile, the All India JEE NEET Students Association tweeted, “CBSE sources have confirmed that #CBSEResult will be announced in July last week tentative. They say preparing Term 1 & Term 2 results is a herculean task this time around. Also, the meeting is ongoing for weightage systems”.
