Buying BMTC bus passes has now become easier with the introduction of the Tummoc app. The transportation app now allows commuters to buy their passes online and this has helped BMTC earn Rs 2.5 crore revenue in 20 days.

Previously, the daily passes could only be bought by passengers through the bus conductors, while monthly passes could be bought by the commuter on specific dates at specific bus depots. Tummoc app has now disrupted this routine.

This app also caters to Vajra and Vayu Vajra (Volvo buses) passes. The BMTC sells 1.5 lakh passes on a daily basis and since the introduction of the app has sold 50,000 passes digitally in the month of July.

The revenue from the app saw more than a ten-fold increase between April and July as it went up from Rs 21 lakh to Rs 2.5 crore, according to Rajesh S, Chief Traffic Manager, BMTC. He added that the overwhelming response for the app has helped reduce paperwork for the BMTC staff
