Bengaluru: Six days after the severed body of a man was found on the terrace of his house near Kondappa Layout, the Yelahanka police cracked the murder case by arresting the wife of the deceased and her paramour for their alleged role in the murder.

Chandrashekhar, 33, was found dead on the night of October 21. Following an inspection, the police revealed that the body bore severe injuries to its head, throat, and private parts. Based on a complaint filed by one of the relatives of the deceased, the police had taken up a case and took Chandrashekhar’s wife, Shwetha, 21, for questioning.

A series of investigations by the police revealed the alleged involvement of Shwetha and her paramour in the gruesome murder case. Chandrashekhar, a native of Andhra Pradesh had been working as a weaver here.

Almost six months ago he had married his niece Shwetha. It is said that Shwetha had initially objected to the marriage as her uncle was much older than her. Also she had been in love with a person identified as Suresh. Following marriage, Shwetha kept contact with Suresh who would often visit her house in the city during the absence of her husband.

When Chandrashekhar came to know about this, he warned Shwetha of dire consequences. Later, Suresh and Shwetha had decided to eliminate Chandrashekhar in order to continue their relationship, the police alleged.
