‘We’ll allot land near KIA for semiconductor sector

The State government is ready to give 200 acres of land near Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) to facilitate the growth of semiconductor industries, Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana, Minister for Electronics, IT/BT, and Science & Technology, said on Saturday.
Speaking in a webinar on “India Opportunities in Semiconductor Packaging – Sector Wise perspective of an OSAT” organised by the Electronic Industries Association of India ( ELCINA) he said, the government would also provide required amenities like water, power to the proposed land. The State government has earmarked Rs 2,000 crores as subsidy for a period of 5 years to support the development of industry and this has resulted in a very positive impact, he stated.
