Bengaluru: The Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) recently launched an All India Motor Bike Rally, starting from Bum-la Pass at the Indo- Tibet border in Arunachal Pradesh on November 22, 2024 and passing by Bengaluru yesterday, December 27. The rally, which spanned 15,000 kilometres across 20 states, including Karnataka aimed to raise awareness about Tibet’s ongoing struggles under Chinese occupation. The rally exposed the atrocities of the Chinese Communist Regime in Tibet, highlighting forced assimilation, cultural genocide, and the suppression of Tibetan language, culture, and spiritual heritage.
Participants engaged with political leaders, media, and support groups to stress the need for international intervention. TYC emphasised China’s exploitation of Tibet’s natural resources and reckless damming projects, which threatened the global ecological balance. The rally also underscored Tibet’s strategic importance to India’s security, urging the Indian government to recognise Tibet’s historical status and adopt a resolution supporting its independence.
During the rally, participants visited Tibetan winter markets and hosted public events to promote unity against China’s oppressive policies. TYC called upon the global community to pressure China to end its unlawful actions, protect Tibet’s cultural heritage, and halt environmental degradation on the Tibetan Plateau. The rally served as a reminder of Tibet’s enduring struggle for freedom and justice.
