In a disturbing incident, a woman has shared her unsettling experience with a 'fake' Ola cab driver after boarding the vehicle at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Nikita Malik posted about the incident on X, warning of the dangers posed by unauthorised drivers impersonating official services like Ola. Malik explained that she booked an Ola cab from the airport's designated pickup area around 10:30 pm on November 8. However, a driver who wasn’t assigned to her via the app approached, claiming he could take her to her destination. Malik shared images of her handwritten complaint against the driver, which outlined the incident.
Despite initial hesitation, she entered the car but soon realised something was wrong. The driver didn't ask for the OTP and instead requested she input her destination into his personal Maps app. As they drove, the driver demanded an extra fare, which Malik refused to pay. He then suggested transferring her to another vehicle for the fare.
Realising the situation was dangerous, Nikita insisted on returning to the airport. The driver ignored her and made an unscheduled stop at a petrol station, demanding Rs 500 for fuel. Calmly, she contacted emergency services at 112. According to her complaint, the police arrived shortly afterwards to assist her.
